  • The Nile River has a flooding cycle that has provided a seasonal rhythm.
  • The flooding cycle has determined a planting season for farmers.
  • Upper Egypt is in the south and Lower Egypt is in the north.
  • Egypt has three seasons named Akhet, Peret, and Shemu.
  • Average rainfall in present-day Egypt is about the same as it was in Ancient Egypt.
