What were Egyptians?
Egyptians were an ethnic group that lived in Egypt. The citizens of Egypt sharing a common and verity of Arabic. They lived in 3100-2686 B.C
Hieroglyphics
Ancient Egyptians invented hieroglyphics which was used to tell time, and stand for sound , word or idea. Now it helps us understand how they used to live. Now they came up with letters to spell words so we use the words instead of hieroglyphics
Engineering:
When the Egyptians lived they did not use the basic units that we use now instead they would use there body such as there elbow to the tip of there middle finger. This was called the cubit. Now instead of there foot size we use a foot as in 12 inches. So today we still use length but we just measure it different.
Engineering:
The Egyptians came up with one of the first , if not the first decimal system. We use this today but is made into the english language.

A lot of those inventions are still being used today. Though they are made different, have more parts ,and are put together different. They still came up with the general idea of it.

- 5000 B.C Egyptians began to farm
- 4500 B.C sails were invented for there boats
- 3500 B.C hieroglyphics we invented
- 3000 B.C buildings were made where they would use mud brick.
- 2500 B.C the pyramids were made
- 1550 B.C royal tombs were buil
- 332 B.C.Egypt was invaded by Greek and the new kingdom era ends
- B.C = before Christ
IMPORTANT PEOPLE
- Ahmes- He wrote the Rhind Mathematical Papyrus, a work of the Ancient Egyptian mathematics. Also called Ahmose. He lived in the 17 dynasty (mid 17 century). This job title was a scribe.
IMPORTANT PEOPLE
- Euclid of Alexander- also known as the father of geometry.Euclid deduced the principles of what is now called Euclidean geometry. Euclid also wrote on perspective, conic sections, spherical geometry, number theory and rigor. He lived in the Ptolemaic dynasty (4 century B.C)
