The Egyptian God, Osiris – God of Death

  • Osiris, one of Egypt’s most important deities, was god of the underworld. He also symbolized death, resurrection, and the cycle of Nile floods that Egypt relied on for agricultural fertility.
  • According to the myth, Osiris was a king of Egypt who was murdered and dismembered by his brother Seth.
  • His wife, Isis, reassembled his body and resurrected him, allowing them to conceive a son, the god Horus.

The Egyptian God, Seth – God of War

  • Seth is the god of war, chaos, and storm and was one of the first 5 gods.
  • He is sometimes depicted as a red-haired beast with a forked tail or a shaggy red dog-like beast.
  • He murdered his brother and that turned his brother into the god of death.

The Egyptian God, Anubis – God of Mummification

  • Anubis is often depicted as a jackal or a man with the head of a jackal
  • Anubis was once the unofficial god of the dead.
  • Anubis is the god who judges and guides souls to the afterlife.
