PERFORMANCE ENHANCING DRUGS
Performance enhancing drugs or ped's are used by professional and amateur athletes to "improve" game play
WHY IS THIS A PROBLEM IN SPORTS??
Is giving athletes an unfair advantage against competitors.
SHORT-TERM EFFECTS OF PED'S
- paranoid (extreme,unreasonable)
- extreme irritability
- Delusions- impaired judgment
- Decrease in appetite
- Major decrease in sleep
LONG-TERM EFFECTS OF PEDS
- Anger and aggression (roid rage)
- Increase in chance of getting heart attack/stroke
- Kidney failure
- Tumors in liver
- Blood diseases from injection use
Since 2011 39 Major League Baseball players have been caught using ped's
SOLUTIONS FOR PED'S
- Stricter rules
- Fining the player
- Longer suspensions and or kick out of league
