  • Eleanor: lives in a broken home with her abusive stepfather, mother, and four siblings
  • she has red curly hair, bit chubby, and wears mens clothes
  • She's the new girl at school that everyone tries to stay away from
  • Park: comes from a wealthier family with a nice house, have a close relationship
  • He's thin, both of his parents work, is well liked at school, have korean and half irish

SETTING

INTERNAL CONFLICT
Eleanor knows her and Park come from extremely different families. It makes her feel different, uncomfortable, and unsure of the relationship that they start to pursue.

EXTERNAL CONFLICT
Eleanor is not allowed to have a boyfriend, so she sneaks over to Park's house everyday, lying to her mom that she is going to her "friend" Tina's

RISING ACTION
Eleanor is getting nasty messages written on her notebook, and Park asks her if she was writing the messages on there herself. Eleanor gets mad, and they don't talk for a week.

CLIMAX
Eleanor finds out it's her stepdad writing the nasty messages because he knows that she isn't really going to Tina's, she's going to Park's

RESOLUTION
Eleanor runs away to Mississippi to her aunt and uncle's house so she can finally be safe from her stepdad and her broken home, but she leaves Park behind in Omaha.
