2.
TYPES
Radio Waves
Microwaves
Infrared radiation
Visible light
Uv light
3.
TYPES CONT.
X-rays
Gamma Rays
4.
WAVELENGTH
The measure from crest to crest
Blue has the shortest wavelength
Red has the longest wavelength
One wave is one full crest and one full trough

5.
FREQUENCY
Shorter frequencies have shorter wavelengths
Longer frequencies have longer wavelengths
A frequency is how often one full wave occurs
6.
ENERGY
Energy in a wave is higher in shorter frequency waves
Colors like blue and violet have more energy than red and orange
When waves have a smaller wavelength they have more energy
Larger wavelengths have less energy
7.
COLORS FROM HIGHEST ENERGY TO LOWEST

ACTIVITY
Take a slinky with two people on each end
Slowly move the slinky up and down until there is a small wave
Then Shake the slinky up and down faster
Wait for the slinky to return to you and then shake it again
Repeat three times and observe

9.
WHAT DID YOU NOTICE ABOUT THE WAVE WHEN YOU SHOOK IT SLOW?
The wavelength was long
The frequency was long
It took less energy
10.
WHAT DID YOU NOTICE ABOUT THE WAVE WHEN YOU SHOOK IT FAST?
The wavelength was shorter
The frequency was shorter
It took more energy to make the wace move fast
