BACKGROUND

• Hypertension is one of the focus of the AMIGA-UP partnership
• Serial BP measurements are needed during screening & evaluation
• Personalities in the community received no, or little, training
• Inter-observer variability is an issue
• Use of calibrated electronic BP device may be a solution

Is the use of electronic BP device by non-health workers comparable to the use of sphygmomanometer by trained healthworkers in the community setting?
