ONOMATOPOEIA
Sound effects written in words.
The lion goes "roar!"
Roar is the sound a lion makes but written.
3.
ALLITERATION
The occurrence of the same letter or sound at the beginning of adjacent or closely connected words.
The polite penguins passed peacefully.
Polite, penguins, passed and peacefully all start with the letter P.
4.
OXYMORON
Conjoining contradictory terms.
The pig was very neat and tidy.
Pigs are known for being dirty but we're explained as neat and tidy.
5.
ALLUSION
A figure of speech that refers to a well-known story,event,person, or object in order to make a comparison in the readers mind.
He was a real stallion with the ladies.
Comparing a boy to a stallion is an allusion.
