  • Elements have there own symbol .
  • Example : sodium = Na , chlorine = Cl , hydrogen = H , oxygen = O ,
  • Carbon = C , nitrogen = N .

  • A compound is two or more elements that chemically combine to form -
  • A compound .
  • Water is a compound made of 2 elements hydrogen and oxygen .
  • Examples of a compound : H2O , NH3 , CH4 , NaCL .
  • Compounds can be broken down into individuals .

  • A mixture is two or more substances that come together but
  • Do not make a new substance .
  • Mixtures can be easily separated .
  • Examples of a mixture : Salad , chex mix , lucky charms ,
