THE SETTING IS WHERE A STORY TAKES PLACE

FOUR MAIN TYPES OF CHARACTERS

  • Round- a round character is a character with many personalities.
  • Flat- a flat character is someone who's character is only presented briefly.
  • Dynamic- A character who has many personalities that change by the end of the story.
  • Static- a static character is a stereotype with only one or two characteristics that never change.

PLOT

  • Introduction- Introduces the setting, characters, and atmosphere.
  • Initiating incident- An incident that will lead to the conflict of the story.
  • Rising action- A series of events that build conflict which leads to the climax.
  • Climax- When the conflict of the story is at its highest point.
  • Dénouement- The resolving part of the story.

POINT OF VIEW

  • The P.O.V. is a story told by a certain perspective.
  • First person- A story told by the protagonist.
  • Third person- When the narrator tells the story.
  • Limited omniscient- When a story is told by a third person narrator.
