LINE

  • Definition,
  • A mark with length and direction.
  • Created by a point that moves across a surface.

LINE

  • Decription,
  • This picture was taken as a close up of piano keys.
  • This picture shows line because of the lines created from the gaps of the keys.
  • This picture also shows line because it is straight and long,
  • Which are two describing words of line.

SHAPE

  • Definition,
  • A flat figure created when actual or implied lines meet to surround a space 2D.

SHAPE

  • Description,
  • This is a disc that represents shape by first being 2D.
  • Second this is a shape because it surrounds scape on the desk.
  • This disc is round and has a hole in the middle, like most.
  • This was a medium range away photo.

FORM

  • Definition,
  • Objects that have volume and mass (3D).

  • Description,
  • This fake pumpkin lamp represents form because it takes up space.
  • Also it does have volume and mass which makes it a form.
  • This pumpkin is 3D obviously because it pops out at the person.
  • This was a close up angle.

COLOR

  • Definition,
  • The quality that makes something red, green, blue yellow, etc.

  • Description,
  • This picture is a basket of autumn themed fruits and vegetables.
  • This picture is very colorful by showing many different colors.
  • Also has colorful leaves showing the colors of the trees in autumn.

VALUE

  • Definition,
  • The element of art that means the lightness of a figure.

  • Description,
  • This picture shows value by the different shades of brown used to create the boot.
  • The boot also shows value by mixing the color brown with white to create it.
  • This is a brown boot with a furry ankle edge.

TEXTURE

  • Definition,
  • The way a surface feels (actual texture) or how it looks like it would feel (simulated texture).

TEXTURE

  • Description,
  • This is a dice shaker (sanded in wood-n-toys) it's texture is very smooth.
  • This cube was hand sanded and happens to be very smooth.
  • Which is one of the description words from texture so it has texture.
  • Also (stimulated texture) I can see that this would be smooth without even knowing.

SPACE

  • Definition,
  • The empty or open area between, around, above, and below or within objects

SPACE

  • Description,
  • This is a picture of a rug in my house that is colored with reds and cream.
  • This shows space by having the two kinds of space that create it, negative and positive.
  • The positive space in this rug is the cream colored object.
  • The rest, (the red) is the negative space that fills in the spaces between the cream colored object.
