I. FEAR AND DILIGENCE - v1, 11

II. THE WORD OF GOD - v. 2-

3 reasons why the word of God is important
1. We can't know the promise rest
2. We don't know how to receive the promised rest

3. We can't know God's power to save
「For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes—the Jew first and also the Gentile. III. FAITH -v. 2-

A. God made a standard to follow - v.3-4
「On the seventh day God had finished his work of creation, so he rested from all his work. And God blessed the seventh day and declared it holy, because it was the day when he rested from all his work of creation.」

B. God made a requirement-v.5-6
「You have six days each week for your ordinary work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath day of rest dedicated to the LORD your God. On that day no one in your household may do any work. This includes you, your sons and daughters, your male and female servants, your livestock, and any foreigners living among you. For in six days the LORD made the heavens, the earth, the sea, and everything in them; but on the seventh day he rested. That is why the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and set it apart as holy.」

C. God made an ultimate rest through Jesus- v. 7-10

Conclusion: we can have the assurance of entering into God's rest by
1. Fear and diligence
2.The word of God
3. Faith
May the words of the writer to the Hebrews sink deep into our
Hearts - Let us do our best to enter that rest. But if we disobey God , as the people of Israel did, we will fall.
