ELEY KISHIMOTO

LILY AND STEPH

Design company founded by Mark Eley and Wakako Kishimoto.
Mark Eley was born in Bridgend, Wales in 1968
Wakako Kishimoto was born in Sapporo, Japan, in 1965
They are married with kids
Their differing personalities (Eley os outgoing and emotional, and Kishimoto is shy and creative) make for an interesting partnership

Their designs are modern and dismiss passing trends and fads
They have a simple yet engaging, print design aesthetic
They decorate everything - partnerships with electronics cases, beer, bags, wallpaper, furniture, fabrics, glassware, crockery, also in different industries such as automotive, architectural, electronics
They use methods such as Flash printing which is how they originally developed their own aesthetic
They are inspired by both Asian and British cultures and architecture making for a unique and recognisable look

We chose this designer because we liked the modern and abstract designs they created. We thought they were interesting people and that their aesthetic and inspiration was very unique.

What type of textile do you think is most suitable for the patterns they created?
We think the simple yet engaging designs are perfect for shoes or cushions or even wallpaper and clothing. We think they can really be used anywhere as they are so unique and individual.
