  • His father was a farmer.
  • His mother died when he was just 11!
  • At a very young age, he could assemble a watch at 8 years old!
  • At age 11, he helped make a knife for his step mother.

  • He had a wife named Henrietta Edwards
  • He had 4 children.

  • He went to Yale University, which is now Becker College

  • He invented the Cottin Gin, which improved cotton production.
  • He had an idea to replace parts when he was helping to make muskets.
