ELISHA
Son of Shaphat, Elisha worked on his Father's farm, and the farm he would inherit someday.
The name Elisha means "God in Salvation."
He lived in the northern Kingdom of Israel during the reigns of Jehoram, Jehu, Jehoahaz and Jehoash.

JORDAN RIVER
Elisha was with Elijah when he was taken up into heaven, along with a chariot and horses of fire.
Prophets watched as Elisha and Elijah crossed the Jordan River.
Elijah used his robe to strike the waters of Jordan and part the river so he and Elisha could cross on dry land.
Elisha came back without Elijah and he used his own robe to part the river too.
When Elisha parted the river the Prophets knew he had the same ability as Elijah.

JERICO
Elisha had a servant named Gehezi that wandered the country with him.
They went to Jericho to help.
The water was bad so the land could not produce crops.
Elisha put salt in a jar and threw it into the spring to purify the water.
The water was better and the crops began to grow again.
