She caused a great impact on England because of her way of ruling. The Scottish Calvinist preacher John Knox famously railed against female monarchy as an abomination in his The First Blast of the Trumpet against the Monstrous Regiment of Women, a work written in 1558 to contest Catholic Mary I’s right to be queen.

Mary Tudor had reigned for five years but before her, Elizabeth Tudor's reign has been treated like it raised issues for English female monarchy de novo.

Elizabeth struggled a lot before she became queen, she had lost her mother and her role as queen was always taken by her step mothers (Her mother died).
