Where she was born:

Daughter of Daniel Cady and Margaret Livingston Cady

Elizabeth Cady Stanton's Parents:

An American suffragist, social activist, abolitionist, and leading figure of the early women's rights
movement.

She went to college in Emma Willard School.

Accomplishments

  • Her speech, The Declaration of Sentiments, presented at the Seneca Falls Convention in 1848 is often called one of the first steps towards women's rights
  • Stanton not only addressed voting issues. She talked about divorce, property rights, birth control, employment, custody rights, any many other issues.
  • Stanton was also the 1st president of the National American Woman Suffrage Association

Legacy

  • That women should have a say in American politics.
  • Energy and with a lot of sacrifices she tried everything for political manipulation to achieve something which we take for granted today: the right to have a political vote

That she tried everything, made sacrifices for women to have a say in American politics.
