  • The plays of William Shakesphere were some of the most famous
  • It was devolved into sophisticated and varied forms
  • There was a few diffrent types of Elizabethian music: Elizabethian Church music, Elizabethian Court
  • People during the Elizabethian Era sang for fun and for work

  • Music was performed at many diffrent events but not ushally in concerts.
  • Music was performed at dinners, dances, masquerades, parties, and plays.
  • During the Medieval Era, music accompanied poems

  • Popular during this time period were the spinet and the viol.

  • Looks somewhat like a guitar
  • thirteen pairs of strings running the length of the body
  • Very difficult to play

  • During the era of Queen Elizabeth, the dances where categorized by wealth.
  • The Upper class men were not aloud to dance because of the size of the musical instrument.
  • dancers were imported from Italy,Spain or France Queen Elizabeth encouraged dancing and music to her people

DANCE

  • The Masque was a very popular dance
  • upper class man Elizabethan court dance called the Volt
  • only dance which allowed the dancers could be truly free
