THE HISTORY

• The emberá mask is made by the emberá woman, and are used in rituals
• The shamans use the balsa wood fauna figures in healing/cleansing rituals
• The masks tie into the rituals by the villagers using them, hanging them.
• This imagery of using nature to fuel the natrual cures are important to
• The people who have made them.

The Emberá mask can be made in two ways, like the original ones, or the cardboard style, using only cardboard and scissors.
