EMPHASIS

The artists can determine what captures the viewer's sttention. This is called emphasis.

FOCAL POINT

The part of the composition thst attracts the viewer's attention is called focal point of center of interest.

CONTRAST

An artist can create the focal point through the use of contrast. Contrast crefers to the difference. Any type of if difference in imagery will result in that element becoming a focal point.

ISOLATION

Another way to create a focal point in artwork is through isolation. Whenever one object or element is seperated from a group it becomes isolated and in turn, becomes a focal point.

OBJECTS IN THE CENTER

Objects in the center or near the center of the picture plane will naturally become a focal point. By placing an object or element just off center, the artist can create a focal point through placement without affectin the aesthetics of the work.

CONVERGENCE

Using implied lines to direct a viewer's eye to an object or element.

UNUSUAL

Introducing an object or element that is unsual to the scene will cause an object to stand out and deman attention thus creating a focal point.
