WHAT IS EMPHYSEMA?

• Its an irreversible disease that damages alveoli, (air sacks) in the lungs
• The inner walls of the air sacks weaken and eventually rupture.
• This causes shortness of breath by trapping old air in and leaving no space for new air to come in

CAUSES

• Tobacco smoke
• Marijuana smoke
• Air pollution
• Manufactoring fumes

SYMPTOMS

• Shortness of breath
• Nails turn blue or gray
• Get tired from small excesrcise
• Severe cough and chest pains

TREATMENTS

• Emphysema cant be cured, treatment will only slow down the process
• Once a person gets it they can get treatments for it but will have it for the rest of their life :(
• 1. Medication, inhalers or antibiotics
• 2. Theraphy, pulmonary rehabilitation or nutrition therapy
• 3. Have lungs surgically removed and transplant new ones into your body
