WHAT CAUSES EMPHYSEMA

  • It is caused by smoking cigarettes
  • Breathing in air pollution
  • Breathing in toxic air

HOW DOES IT IMPACT THE RESPIRATORY SYSTEM

  • It makes it hard to catch your breath
  • It also causes lung damage
  • It causes airways to collapse
  • Your body doesn't get enough oxygen

CURES TO MAKE IT BETTER OR GO AWAY

  • STOP SMOKING!!!!!!!
  • Try to avoid areas with a lot of polluted air
  • No cure but there is treatments it relieves, symptoms and prevent further lung damage

WAYS TO PREVENT IT

  • Stay indoors when air pollution warnings are in effect.
  • Don't smoke!
  • Try to avoid breathing in second hand smoke.

  • Approximately 20,000,000 Americans are diagnosed with emphysema
  • Smoking is the number one cause of emphysema, lung cancer and failure
  • More than 500,000 Americans die each year.
