Empowering Teachers

with one less program override at a time

It is the duty of the educator to be an advocate for his or her students, no matter how exhausted he or she may be.

Key Tips on Teaching Phonics

  • Phonics and Reading go hand in hand
  • Tasks are meaningful and authentic
  • Invented spelling is helpful for students in learning phonics
  • Phonics instruction should be practiced through reading comprehension

Key Reminders for Teachers

  • No child writes a thank-you letter to a program
  • Teachers constatnly modify, revise, and improve their curriculum
  • Effective teachers use a combination of approaches.
  • Keep up to date on the latest research, ideas, and your student's needs.

  • Will this teach a student to read?
  • What are the attitudes of reading being communicated?

Middle Questions

  • What assessments were used, for how long, and what was covered?

Finale Questions

  • Who are the researchers?
  • Where did their sources come from?
  • What are some possible biases you or the researches possess?
  • What is the duration of the program?
  • What are the short and long term successes?

No matter what the program is, the teacher is the head of decisions.
They know their students strengths and weaknesses, NOT a program or a computer.

We are the teacher.

  • We went through the training and schooling.
  • We are with our students all day.
  • We decide what our students need.
  • We create our curriuculm; programs merely assist us.
