END OF THE FRENCH REVOLUTION

BY: RILEY SIEGEL

What was the French Revolution?
The French Revolution was a period of major social and political disturbance in France from 1789 to 1799 (or 1804) that majorly affected French and modern history, marking the decline of powerful monarchies and churches and the rise of democracy and nationalism.

When was the end ???
The truth is, nobody really knows, but historians have a five year time period in which they thought it ended. Historians think that it could have ended between 1799 to 1804, but that is just in my research.

How did it end???
Even though they aren't sure when it ended they have a good idea on how it ended. Napoleon staged a coup and seized power and with the death of Robespierre who was their current leader.

EXPLANATION

  • Robespierre died and Napoleon stepped up to the plate.
  • Napoleon held a violent, and illegal seizure of power from a government.
  • After Napoleon took over the revolution stopped.
  • When Napoleon took over France went into a 15 year period of military rule.
  • After the revolution was over Napoleon ruled for 23 years

Napoleons Rule
During napoleons rule he did many good things. Examples:
-made Napoleonic Code
-developed strong continental system
-had a very strong army
-brought peace to church and clergy.
