- One reason many animals in the Amazon are going extinct is because of the amount of trees being cut down.

- Another reason is that people are poaching animals for their fur so they can use them in clothes, shoes, bed sheets, & etc.

- Some of them are being hunted down for food.
- Others just for fun and the hunters don't know they are endangered

- Most of these animals you are going to see are at the houston zoo.
- Many of these animals are in captivity for a zoo, scientific research, or for pets.

Macaws
- Their Scientific Name is Psittacidae
- Some wild Macaws Are Known to be toxic from the food that they eat
- Some Mimic Human Speech
- The most endangered types of Macaws are: Hyacinth macaws, Red Fronted Macaws, & Blue Throat Macaws
Jaguars
- The Scientific name for the Jaguar is Panthera Onca
- They live 12 to 15 years in the wild
- They are mostly confused with leopards by their fur, but unlike leopards, they have dots in the circle markings in the fur.
- They weigh 72 through 211 pounds
Poison Dart Frog
- The Scientific name for it is Dendrobatidae
- They are Carnivores
- They are one of the most Poisonous species in the world
- Their only predator that they have is a snake called Leimadophis Epinephelus or the Fire bellied Snake which is immune to all toxins formed by the frog.
Black Spider Monkey
- Their Scientific name is Ateles Fusciceps
- They depend on their mothers untill they are about ten week
- They are omnivore
Three Toed Sloth
- Their Scientific name is Bradypu
- They are herbivores
- Sloths are the slowest mamals
- They are so slow that they grow algae on their backs, which helps them camoflauge.
Western Lowland Gorilla
- Their Scientific name is Gorilla Beringer Graueri
- They are onof the mosty intellegent animals in the world
- They are omnivores
- They live an average of 35 years in the wild.
Orangutan
- Their scientific name is Pongo Pygmaeu
- They are omnivore
- They live from 30 to 40 years in the wild.
- When they stand, their arms touch the ground because their arms are so long
Adopt an Animal
- If we adopt an animal then we are saving it.
- We can send money to any animal Charity helping the animals
If we recycle than we will be saving the trees from being cut down.
