Endangered means the species faces high risk of extinction. The Saola is critically endangered.

Critically endangered=extremely high risk
Endangered=high risk
Vulnerable = at risk

-loss or degradation of habitat
-invasive alien species
-harvesting (hunting/gathering)
-accidental mortality (poisoning, entanglement, vehicle collision, etc)
- Persecution (pest control, etc)
