PRESENTATION OUTLINE

SOLAR PANELS VS. COAL BURNING

By: Lauren Barbarich

COMPARISON

  • They are both cheaper energy sources
  • Both produce electricity and heat
  • Each goes through many stages to get energy

CONTRAST

  • Coal has dangerous jobs while solar is more safe
  • Coal burning pollutes the air unlike solar panels
  • Coal is a finite resource while solar is infinite

ADVANTAGES OF SOLAR PANELS

  • It can be used in remote locations
  • Requires little maintenance
  • Quiet at their job
  • It is infinite

DISADVANTAGES OF SOLAR PANELS

  • Can't be used in the night
  • Limited use on cloudy days
  • Has to directly face the sun for optimal energy
  • Expensive to imstall PV cells

ADVANTAGES OF COAL BURNING

  • Can easily be transported
  • Can build power stations anywhere with large amounts
  • Scales well to can make different sizes of generation plants
  • It is cheap since its easy to mine

DISADVANTAGES OF COAL BURNING

  • Mining coal ruins habitats
  • Leaves behind remains that harm the environment
  • Causes global warming
  • It is finite
