Coal

  • Coal is a rock that comes from plants and animals that have died
  • Disadvantages of using coal is: it contains pollution and displaces wildlife
  • Andvantages of coal are: it can be stored, saved and exported

Oil

  • Advantages of oil are: it is easy to find, easy to transport, and high energy density
  • Disadvantages of oil are: It releases green house gasses, and if spilled the pollution can kill animals
  • Oil is made from fossil fuel and unrefined petroleum and is non-renewable

Biofuels - Biodiesal

  • Advantages of biodiesel are: Economic way to make fuel, it is non-toxic, and biodegradable
  • Disadvantages of biodiesal are: It's expensive, and a long gathering process
  • Biodiesal gas is a natural gas that we use which comes from vegetable oil and is a renewable resource

Wind

  • Advantages are: It is clean, renewable, and easier to get than fossil fuel
  • Disadvantages are: the amount of power is not predictable and can kill birds
  • Wind is unlimited renewable, and uses turbines to power generator

Natural Gas

  • Advantages are: Easy to transfer, and fuels the economy
  • Disadvantages are: Harmful to animals on land and sea, and releases Co2
  • Natural gas is non-renewable and made from decomposed plants, animals and aged petrolium

Nuclear

  • Advantages are: It is clean and completes energy demand
  • Disadvantages are: It causes climate change, and the waste is dangerous
  • Nuclear is energy released through fusion or fission and is non-renewable

Hydroelectric

  • Advantages are: It is clean and safe for anmails
  • Disadvantages are: It stops the flow of H20 and it is expensive
  • Hydroelectric is made from the movement of water and is renewable

Geothermal

  • Advantages: Low impact on the enviroment, and has no pollution
  • Disadvantages are: Costly to start, and its only available in some regions
  • Geothermal is made from the heat in the earths interior which is converted to electricity and is renewable

Solar

  • Advantages are: There is an unlimited source and is in almost all parts of the world
  • Disadvantages are: Expensive, and panel production causes toxic waste
  • Solar is made by energy from the sun and is renewable

Biomass

  • Advantage is it eliminates waste
  • Disadvantages are: We cut down trees, and using crops for natural purposes
  • Biomass is made by organic material and gets energy from sun and is renewable

Ethanol

  • Advantages are: Fewer oil changes, and cleaner than gas biodegradable
  • Disadvantages: Land for corn, and climate control
  • Ethanol is renewable and is made in the U.S. from corn

Electric Cars

  • Advantages are: Fuel efficient and doesn't pollute the world
  • Disadvantages: The plug has to be a EV plug, and running out of juice
  • I think they aren't a really good idea because we have to kill more plants to make energy to charge these cars and they are renewable

Hydrogen Fuel Cells

  • Advantages are: Less oil dependent, and less polution
  • Disadvantages: Not Durable or reliable and is expensiv
  • Hydrogen fuel cells are made H2 + O2 and are renewable
