WIND ENERGY
- Today I'm going to talk about why wind energy is a good energy source

HOW DOES IT WORK?
- Well,a wind turbine works the complete opposite of a fan.
- A fan uses electricity to make wind
- a wind turbine though, use wind to make electricity.
- The wind makes the blades move and turn
- which spins a shaft,that is connected to a generator and that makes electricity.
CURRENT USES
- it converts kinetic energy from the wind into electrical power
- used for water pumping or communications
- It is also used to lower peoples electric bills
WHAT ARE SOME USES?
- wind turbines are typically used for water pumping or communications.
- But,many homeowners, farmers, ect. That live in windy areas also use wind turbines as a way.
- to lower their electric bills
- (These are called 'stand-alone wind turbines')
converts kinetic energy from the wind into electrical power
WHAT EFFECTS DOES IT HAVE ON THE ENVIRONMENT
- What's good is there is no toxic pollution or global warming emissions.
- They are causes to some deaths of bats and birds
- but there has been a low percentage for these deaths,so no need to worry
- Windmills do not take up too much space,which is good

IS IT WIDELY ACCEPTED?
- Yes,it is
- Why? Because lots of people use it for energy
- And it doesn't pollute the environment

PROS AND CONS
- Pros: it doesn't cause pollution. It contributes to 80% of American electricity
- Cons: kills a small percentage of birds and bats. wind is unsteady and unpredictable
