ENERGY TRANSFORMATION

  • The process of changing energy from one of its forms into another.

THERMAL ENERGY

  • Energy possessed within the object due to movement of the particles within th object.

NUCLEAR ENERGY

  • the energy released during nuclear fission or fusion, especially when used to generate electricity.

ENERGY

  • energy is the quantitative property that must be transferred to an object in order to perform work on, or to heat, the object.

CONDUCTION

  • the process by which heat or electricity is directly transmitted through a substance.

CONVECTION

  • the movement caused within a fluid by the tendency of hotter and therefore less dense material to rise.

RADIATION

  • Energy that travels through space in the form of particles or waves.

THERMAL EXPANSION

  • Thermal expansion is the tendency of matter to change its shape, area, and volume in response to a change in temperature.

JOULES

  • A joule is a unit of energy.

LAW OF CONSERVATION OF ENERGY

  • Energy cannot be created nor destroyed . It can change form but the total amount of energy can’t change.

GRAVITATIONAL POTENTIAL ENERGY

  • Gravitational energy is the potential energy a body with mass has in relation to another massive object due to gravity.

HEAT TRANSFER

  • Heat transfer is a discipline of thermal engineering that concerns the generation, use, conversion, and exchange of thermal energy between physical systems
