What

• Ethnography is the research method of Cultural Anthropology – i.e. immersion-based field work
• Ethnography is also the written text born out of that ethnographic research

shared elements/traits that bind people together as a culture or subculture

Despite its affiliation with anthropology and sociology, similar styles of field work are practiced by journalists, especially those who practice what’s called “immersion journalism"

• firsthand observation
• conducting interviews
• analysis of artifacts

Secondary Research Methods

• Websites maintained by group
• Documentary films
• Video interviews
• Scholarly articles should be kept to a minimum
