THE COOLEST QUOTES EVER!!

  • '' the American Dream emphasizes the pursuit of happiness''.(garfinkle, Norman 5)
  • This quote relates to our idea of an American Dream because with the strenuous work of being stable, you will be happy.

BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE!!

  • ''New study's suggest a lifestyle is little more than a fantasy''( soergel, Andrew 2)
  • This quotes relates to our idea of the American Dream because there is no better feeling than having exactly what you need, and that means to be a happy, average American.

THIS RELATES TO “I HEAR AMERICA SINGING”

BECAUSE...

IN THAT POEM

  • Walt Whitman describes middle-class, blue-collar Americans working every which job and singing their own song and being proud of it. To me, these people are just living the dream.
  • “ I hear America singing, the varied carols I hear... The carpenter sings...the boatman sings... The shoemaker sings...” (Whitman 2)

SO WHAT??

  • Because there are only 1% of billionaires (commonly brought up by Bernie sanders) in the us, everyday people cannot afford the fancy, elegant lifestyle many think is the American Dream, so we should enjoy what we have and keep moving forward and be happy with what you have.
