COMPLEX SENTENCES

  • Consists of one main or independent clause
  • The main clause can stand alone as a simple sentnce but the subordinate can not stand alone as a sentence
  • Sentences will be joined by:
  • After,Although,Because,Before,Whereas,As

COMPOUND SENTENCE:

  • Made up on one or more simple sentence
  • It is joined by a comma(,) and a conjunction
  • And,But,For,Not,Or,So,Yet
  • They can also be joined by:
  • Semicolon(;) and Colon(:)

SIMPLE SENTENCE

  • One independent Clause
  • It has one subject and one verb
