PRESENTATION OUTLINE
THE NOVEL I READ IS "TO BE A SLAVE"
ESSENTIAL QUESTION B.: DID IT REALLY HAPPEN?
BUT SOME OF THE STORIES COULD HAVE BEEN MADE UP
I DONT THINK THAT ANY OF THE ANONYMOUS STORIES WERE MADE UP THOUGH
BECAUSE THEY CAME FROM SOURCES NOT FROM THE AUTHOR
THERE WASNT A REASON TO MAKE UP A STORY ANYWAY.
SLAVES DID THINGS TO GO AGAINST THEIR OWNERS
THINGS SLAVES DID AGAINST OWNERS
- They broke tools
- They acted stupid
- They stole food
- They stole tools
SOME SLAVES KILLED THEIR OWNERS
MANY SLAVES RAN AWAY TO HIDE IN THE WOODS
SOME RUNAWAY SLAVES EVEN JOINED INDIANS
NOT ALL SLAVES WERE SUCCESFUL
BECAUSE OTHER SLAVES WANTED TO WIN FAVOR WITH THEIR OWNER
AND TOLD THEIR OWNERS WHEN THEY WOULD RUN AWAY
THERE WERE MANY REASONS SLAVES WOULD TRY TO GET FAVOR WITH THE OWNER
SOMETIMES THE OWNERS WOULD GIVE THE SLAVES
SOMETIMES SLAVES WERE EVEN PROMOTED TO OVERSEER OVER OTHER SLAVES
ONCE SLAVERY WAS ABOLISHED MANY SLAVES DIDNT KNOW
MANY FORMER SLAVE OWNERS TOOK ADVANTAGE OF THAT
THAT WAS AROUND THE TIME THAT MY BOOK ENDED
