PHIL KNIGHT & BILL BOWERMAN

Phil Knight was born on February 24, 1938, and his eventual partner was born on February 19, 1911. Phil Knight is a Graduate of the Stanford school of business and the University of Oregon. Bill Bowerman graduated from the University of Oregon as well.

Their company is called Nike and it is based out of Beaverton, Oregon on January 25, 1964. Their slogan is "Just Do It".

Phil Knight ran track for the University of Oregon where Bill Bowerman coached track. They grew to become friends and at track meets they would sell shoes under the brand BRS (Blue Ribbon Sports) which was originally just an Asics outlet. Fortunately for Phil and Bill their relationship with Asics ended and Nike began.
