Oxygen most be transported from upside the body to all the organs and tissues in the Body by a protein called hemoglobin which binds oxygen to the lungs and carries it to the tissues. The tissues release the oxygen and returns to the lungs to repeat the cycle. If the equallibruim changed you would not get enough oxygen and could pass out or even die.
