He moved to Germany with his parents when he was six years old.

In 2002, The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art opened in Massachusetts.
He has won multiple awards including a Time Magazine Top 10 Children’s Book of 2015.
His drawings are tissue paper collages and paint.
