  • Ages: Early infancy
  • Learns if they should trust their world
  • Learns if they can trust others to be there

SECOND STAGE OF DEVELOPMENT

  • Autonomy versus shame and doubt
  • Ages: 1-3 years
  • Learn if they are able to rely on others
  • Learn if they must do things themself

THIRD STAGE OF DEVELOPMENT

  • Initiative versus guilt
  • Ages: 3-6 years
  • Sensitive to other peoples thoughts
  • Desire social approval
  • Apply rules others have made

  • Begins to have realizations in world
  • Learning becomes important
