EROSION AND DEPOSITION

WHAT IS EROSION?

  • The process by which water
  • Ice,wind moves weathered
  • Particles of rock and soil and moves them

What is deposition?
When water or wind picks up sand or rocks and picks them up and move them.

Flowing water causes erosion and deposition. It can pick up rocks and soil and move it around the river and hit other sediments with it.

Glaciers
Glaciers can cause erosion because as it slowly moves it picks up rocks and it can break other materials with the rocks and sediments it picks up.

Waves also erode and deposit sediments. As it can pick up sand and use it's strength to erode rocks.

Wind can cause deposition. If the wind is strong it can pick up dirt or sand and use it to cause abrasion (making rocks smoother) and even erosion!
