PRESENTATION OUTLINE
WEATHERING AND EROSION POW
The difference between weathering and erosion is that weathering is the wearing away of rock and erosion deposits the rock by wind, water, and ice. Erosion, weathering and deposition work together by breaking down rock.
An example of weathering is the creek in my back yard. In the creek the water flows over the rock and eroded the rock down.
The force of the flowing water is causing the erosion to break down the rocks in the creek bed.
The eroded material is heading downstream flowing over other rocks.
In order to reduce the amount of erosion you could set up a system to slow down the flow of the water.
Another similar example is the rain water flowing down my drive way. When the rain water flows over the rocks it slowly breaks the rock into sediments and washes them down my drive way.
I sent my pictures of my creek to you through edmodo.
