PRESENTATION OUTLINE
SOME WORDS YOU WILL SEE ARE:
- Erosion- the process of eroding or being eroded by wind, water, or ice.
- Sediment- Matter deposited by wind, water, or liquid.
- Deposition- The act of placing something, typically sedimentary matter.
- Oxidization- Rust that comes from chemicals in air or water.
THIS IS AN AREA WHERE THE WATER HAS WORN DOWN THE DIRT.
THIS IS AN AREA OF CONCRETE THAT WATER HAS WORN AWAY OVER TIME
IT LOOKS LIKE WATER FLOWED DOWN THE HILL CHISELING AWAY THE ROCK.
THE SOIL HAS BEEN PULLED OUT FROM UNDER THE TREE BY THE RIVER.
Erosion isn't just from water. It can come from ice, wind, even other rocks! For example...
ICE COULD GET INTO THE CRACK AND SPLIT UP THE ROCK.
There is more than one type of weathering. I've shown you mechanical weathering, and here's chemical weathering.
THE SIGNS HAVE RUSTED A LITTLE BIT. THIS IS OXIDIZATION.
AS YOU CAN SEE, SOME OF THE ROCKS HAVE WITHERED A LOT
