Mt. Vesuvius erupted in Pompeii and devastated the city killing lots of people.

Roman city of Pompeii, Italy very beautiful, and relatively wealthy.

15,000 people dead. caused by tons of ash covering everybody, and a mix of lava and pumice at 1000 degrees fahrenheit going 70 mph.

Tons of artifacts discovered by archaeologists in 1748. Discovered by a surveying engineer.

The eruption of Mt Vesuvius, in 79 AD. A primary source was discovered by Pliny the Younger who experienced the whole event, and lived.

Modern Pompeii is now a very popular
