UNIVERSAL RIGHTS

& RESPONSIBILITIES

Every individual has a right to:

  • form, hold, share, change and defend his or her own opinion & assertion;
  • RESPECTFULLY challenge and question others' opinions & assertions;
  • feel emotionally and physically safe from others' reactions to one's opinions.

DOUBLE-EDGED SWORD

Every individual has a responsibility to:

  • carefully formulate thoughts prior to engaging in dialogue;
  • engage in dialogue in a manner that respects and tolerates all points of view.

DEBATE DIALOGUE

two truths to follow

1. The truth value of a claim is independent of the person making the claim.

2. All dialogue must be shared with mutual respect in a kind, professional manner.
