  • First amendment- freedom of speech
  • Free speech- the right to be free from unreasonable constraint
  • Fighting words- words and a speech that provokes violence
  • Slander- speech that can be proved defamatory

PUBLIC DISCORSE-

  • - speech involving issues about of importantance
  • Incentive- verbal attack
  • Coversation stoppers- speech designed to discredit
  • Rules of engagement- the way we relate to others
  • In a public areana

Dignity- refers to insuring that you listeners feel worthy
Integrity- signal the speakers incorruptability

Trustworthiness- a combination of honesty and dependability
Hecklers veto- robbing us of our ability to make up our minds
