WHO?

  • His name is leonhard Euler
  • He made important discoveries in fields as diverse as infinitesimal calculus
  • He was a publisher he would publish articles

WHAT?

  • credited for introducing and popularizing modern notation and terminology, particularly in analysis.
  • Euler's equations for motion of fluids, and the Euler-Lagrange equation (that comes from calculus of variations)
  • defines the exponentials of imaginary numbers in terms of trigonometric functions.
  • He was able to do prodigious calculations in his head, a necessity after he went blind.

  • He was born April,15,1707
  • Died September,18,1783
  • Lived in st. Petersburg
  • Married twice and had 13 kids
  • Five of his kids died!
