EUROPA

  • Is the sixth largest moon in the universe.
  • Earth is bigger than the Europa .
  • It's mass is about 1% of earths size.
  • It's volume is about 0.015 of earths.
  • It's size is relatively smaller than our moon.

ATMOSPHERE

  • Has a very small, thin atmosphere
  • Happens when fast moving molecules from Jupiter hit Europa

THE SEASONS/TEMPERATURE

  • No seasons are produced by its axis tilt
  • Europa has an axis tilt of 0.1 which is not enough to have seasons
  • The surface of the moon Europa is frozen, covered in a layer of ice.
  • Which lead the scientist to believe that there is an active ocean under it.

YEAR AND ORBIT

  • 1 year on Europa = 11.859 earth years
  • 1 day on Europa = 3.55 earth days
  • Travels in a elliptical orbit around Jupiter like Earth's moon

EUROPA'S COMPOSITION

  • Europa is a terrestrial planet which means it's rocky
  • It also has an icy crust
  • Large pieces of crust appear to have rotated
  • It resembles icebergs.

ORIGIN

  • The origin of the name Europa is
  • from the mythical queen of Crete. But
  • the etymology of Europa is uncertain.
