EUROPEAN VACATION

  • I'm getting to Europe by plane on flight 2750.
  • I'm leaving from St. Louis and landing in London.
  • I'm taking American Airlines to London.
  • The flight will cost $1306.49 and will take 11 hrs. 43min.
  • I will be departing at 12:00 p.m and arriving at 7:45 a.m

DAY 2

  • Big Ben is 155 years old
  • Big Ben is 316' tall
  • When the parliament burnt down they decided it needed a clock tower
  • The palace was owned by queen Victoria but burnt down so they built a tower on it
  • It is 23 euros to ride the Chunnel each way it takes 2.5 hours to travel from Paris to London

DAY 3

  • The Eiffel Tower is 1,063 ft. Tall
  • It was built for commemerating the 100 year aniversery of the French Revolution in Europe.
  • Around 50 tonnes of paint are added to the Eiffel Tower every 7 years to protect it from rust.
  • The louvre is an art museum
  • The Mona Lisa is currently the most famous object in the louvre.

  • If you were to look at everything piece of art in the louvre for 30 secs it would take 100 days

DAY 4

  • The colosseum is where the ancient Romans gathered to watch bloody combat between gladiators.
  • The Romans built the Colosseum arena for housing free gladiator sports event and other entertainment for the amusement of the crowd.
  • The roman emperor Titus had the colosseum built.
  • It covers an area of six acres with the building structure itself at 615 feet long (189m) and 510 feet (156m) wide.

  • I went to the Vienna State Opera it is located in Austria.
  • The building is a Neo-renaissance design
  • The opera is very busy all the time and is hard to get a seat in
  • The opera house gets very hot during plays
  • It can seat up to 2,100 people at a time in the house

DAY 6

  • I then visited the Parthenon temple it is made of pure marble
  • It crowns the Acropolis site
  • It is located in Athens, Greece
  • It was built in between 447-438 BC
  • It is 512 ft. Tall

DAY 7

  • The leaning tower is Pisa is where I went next its in Pisa, Italy.
  • It is 183 ft. Tall
  • It opened in 1372
  • The Pisa tower is campanile or free standing tower
  • It is made of pure white marble

DAY 8

  • I will be taking air France back to St. Louis
  • It will cost $2,007.50
  • I will leave at 10:00 am and arrive at St. Louis at 9:24 pm
