EVACUEES

?WHERE DID THEY GO?

• Children were sent to places with no air raids
• London children went to Devon, Cornwall and Wales
• Other children moved to the north east, Anglia and Scotland
• Some mothers went with their children a
• But they came back when the children were 5 years old

?HOW DID THEY TRAVEL?

• The journey began with a walk to school
• Then it was a bus to the train station
• It was quite exciting
• But most children felt sad
• As they waved goodbye to their families

HOW DID THEY TRAVEL #2

• They had gas mask, food (snacks) and small bags
• The bag was for keeping things in (washing things)
• They also had a label pinned on their coats
• The label has their adress, name and school.
• The journey took several hours

LIFE FOR EVACUEES

• Though they missed their homes, most enjoyed the county side
• city children never seen a cow and just knew where milk was from
• Some of them became best friends and enjoyed it really much
• It was sometimes hard for city children
• But they liked it
