SHAY'S REBELLION

  • An armed uprising, took place in Massachusetts in 1786 & 1787
  • Named after Daniel Shays, a veteran of the American Revolutionary War
  • Brought on by sever post-war financial problems

  • Protesters and veterans shut down county courts
  • To shut down the judicial hearings for tax and debt collection
  • They became radicalized against the state gov't
  • They began to organize and armed force

TREATY OF PARIS

  • 1783, treaty between Louis IX & Henry III of England
  • Ended years of conflict
