The righteous shall live by faith!
Great News before the Bad News Now/Thru 3:21 where Jesus Christ is

The unrighteous shall live under wrath for they will not recognize the normal and natural evidences of God:

Institution of Marriage

Marriage is no longer Normal/Co-habitation is happening

Family Norms
Eating/Church/Picnics
Parties
State Fairs

Internal Evidence of God on the inside/Moral judgments and sense of justice we have when the:
Children are suffered/see a child deprived/neglected
Wife abused
Man shamed in his employment
Family taken advantage of

External evidence God in creation/Heavens declare His glory

Instead a world of living for self/lovers of self

all of this is the normal and natural leading to the name of Jesus

Lovers of Self/Inverts Gods first command
LOOK OUT FOR NUMERO UNO
The essence of living for Christ cannot be enthronement of self/atonement for self

Disobedient-inverted hierarchy of homes


Ungrateful
This kind of heart is the blackest, bleakest and most blind heart of all/in the home a heart that is thankless

Unholy
break not the written laws of God/but the laws of common decency/that law of thinking about others first

Unloving
agostors no natural family affection; where the soul of children gravitates toward God and group



Irreconcilable-trucebreakers their strife is cemented in self/enmity and hostility

Like the NJ girl/suing her parents for college tuition

This society morally is told:

SLOW
GO


Go is great/Slow or No are not for me!

Where God's norms and naturals are inverted or perverted, man will invert all moral directions, GO and do what you want will be the mantra and

SLOW
OR
NO

Will be at the bottom of the light/list!

So who is the wrath of God coming down on? Unrighteous and Ungodly/Vs. 17 says those live by faith righteousness is revealed/that characteristic of God in Christ/shown in the cross that covers man

Vs. 18 says wrath on ALL

Gods wrath is quantitative/it will revealed on ALL who have sinner/So Paul will take the next 2 chapters to show us who has sinned:
Gentile/Who suppresses
Moral Man/Who judges others and therefore will be judged/because He had enough knowledge of God to judge rt and wrong in others
Jew/who possess the oracles

qualitative in the sense
Full Bowl of wrath will come/God will pour out all His anger and fury:

Flood/Dipped His hands
S & G/Dipped His hands
Israel/Babylonian Invasion Dipped His hands

Ps 12:2 Kiss the Son that He might not get angry and you would perish because His wrath would be kindled soon; How blessed are those which take refuge in Him

God cannot be God if He doesnt address sin! He can be a good guy but not God

Like those times that we didnt address injustice or step up when someone became a scapegoat for something someone else did/INternally we cried wrong/sin/that anger flows from a sense or rt and wrong/justice inside of us/sometimes it is skewed by sin/but nevertheless it is true

so we are here in Christ, gathering each week, to worship Him who is here/in the midst of much of the world denying God is God, we are here to say Jesus Christ is alive/and we are alive in Him

So Paul will say:

Gentile-God is here thru the world/creation Ps 19:1-2

To take time to say God is here:
Moon is gorgeous
Tree line is certainly work of His hand
Mountains
Grass coming alive
Sunset/Spectacular

And yet we see it groaning/not moving toward better and better days but being affected by sin/suffering the pangs of childbirth


See the natural is to lead to the name; to live in a

So recognize I am Evident or suppress the truth/ensure wrath

Wrath looks like this for us:
downhill morally
deterioration makeup earth
death man

wrath is
My hair falls out
Stomach sticks out
Mind blacks out/cant remember anything

Groaning of man and mankind is real/death becomes us!

So the question will come up?

what about those that never hear the name of Jesus?
How will man, all men be judged concerning God?

according to the light they have been shown!

Paul says here/the evidence is clear/God has shown Himself:
Inside
Outside

Enough
Man is without excuse; He is indefensible

Call this general revelation or natural revelation

So how can man be saved?

This natural revelation/ believing God is because of the evidence turns from normal and natural to the name of Christ/as we understand in the cultures we live in rt and wrong/as we grapple with the law written on our hearts

Romans 2:14 for when Gentiles who never possess the law act as if there is a law, why do they do so?

Because God has written a moral code on the heart which is to lead them to and understanding of their Maker who can be trusted to save them.

God has certainly left His mark on mankind/nature.
He has shown us Himself, in His natural order, that we might live a life which does not invert or pervert the natural but honors the natural and calls upon the name!

Small things/Cell
Family/Marriage
Simplicity of the Stool

STOOL-i sit on it as intended;

If not life get pointed and painful/so too Paul will say n the coming verses life get pointed in the wrong direction and painful to all who do not honor the Lord, thank the Lord, live according to that which He has shown us n the natural and normal.

Characteristic of the Ungodly




Not the case with us Church: The natural has led us to the name of Christ

Nor were thankful: Man's simple ingratitude against God is shocking. "I cannot say anything much worse of a man than that he is not thankful to those who have been his benefactors; and when you say that he is not thankful to God, you have said about the worst thing you can say of him." (Spurgeon)

For you have been delivered from wrath to come/I Thess 1:10/Because of Jesus Christ/Truth that HE bore our sin!


The anger of God toward my sin has been held off by Christ/when the dam of that wrath breaks forth/when the full bowl of wrath comes forward/worse than the flood/worse than S & G
worse than plagues and pestilence have even been/when wrath comes forward



I am safe
i am sealed
i am saved
i am shut in
I am secretly hidden
I am shown grace
i am set apart
i am certain that this will not separate me from the Love of Christ!


And then with His final words on the cross Jesus said three most beautiful words because beauty happens in threes/just as sorrow and death usually occurs in threes/Beauty

IT IS FINISHED!
Jesus both bore our sin and bore it to the end/because no man could ever bear his sin to the end/for only the perfect Son of God can overcome the imperfect and infinite sin of man!


Is 53:11 says God shall see the fruit of the travail of his soul (meaning the suffering servant) and be satisfied!
